Shockwaves Radio DJs Continue to Leave Following Transition to a Pay-to-DJ Model
Long-time Radiocast external station partner, Shockwaves Radio, suffers loss of DJs.

UK-based Crate Expectations Limited's Shockwaves Radio has been experiencing DJs leaving their Discord community and staff team, likely permanently.
Why Are DJs Leaving Shockwaves Radio?
UK-based Crate Expectations Limited's Shockwaves Radio has been experiencing DJs leaving their Discord community and staff team, likely permanently. This comes not long after their transition to a pay-to-DJ system that required all staff to either pay to continue being a staff member or be terminated from their position.

Following massive backlash, the pay-to-DJ system was swiftly reversed, prompting a major financial supporter of the company to cease funding due to them wanting to bring in more revenue in exchange for their capital.

Why Are Staff Leaving if the Program was Removed?
The issue seems to lie beyond just the fact that it existed. A lot of the DJs seem to be infuriated by the fact that Shockwaves would even consider something like this or simply took this as a sign that they should leave because they may have felt as if they were left behind following the transition of how DJing and other staff positions worked (speculation). Furthermore, all DJs and staff underneath the role of Station Supervisor were removed, meaning that most of the DJs (the ones who did not wish to pay) were terminated and, therefore, would have been required to reapply following the removal of the program.

A large portion of the removed DJs simply chose to not reapply for the position.
More Attempts to Increase Revenue
In another attempt to bring in more revenue, Shockwaves Radio launched an online radio station hosting service, a competitor to Radiocast's competitively priced hosting platform. According to public API data obtained by Radiocast, this is either a partnership with VoltHosting, or Shockwaves does not use their own hosting service.

It is important to note that Shockwaves Radio is owned by an extremely smart and talented individual, and it is likely that they will find a way to increase revenue to ensure the station can stay afloat.
