Radiocast Indecent Language Guidelines

Last updated: 9/13/2025

At Radiocast, we aim to define clear standards for station indecent language and profanity usage to ensure understanding of how this language can be used on our member stations.

NOTE: This guide contains a limited list of language most likely to be seen as indecent or slightly indecent. These are examples only; the list is not exhaustive and does not include every possible word.

Stations marked as “Explicit” are exempt from having to censor levels 1–4; however, they are still required to censor excessively indecent terms.

Viewer Discretion Is Advised Due To Potentially Upsetting Language

Level 1: Minimal Indecency

Words in Level 1 are classified as “minimal indecency” and include words such as “shut up”. These words require no censorship and are fully allowed on all stations, including non‑explicit stations.

Level 2: Mild Indecency

Words in Level 2 are classified as mildly indecent. These words require no censorship; however, they may be seen as slightly indecent by a small percentage of audiences.

The term “piss” requires censorship in sexual contexts. Example: “I pissed in her mouth while we were having sex.” In this context, “piss” would require censorship.

The term “ass” only requires censorship in overly graphic sexual situations. Example: “I grabbed her ass while we were having sex.” In this context, “ass” would require censorship.

The term “ho” only requires censorship if it is used an extreme amount of times in a single time or is used in an overly derogatory way. Example: “I got hoes callin, I got hoes callin, I got hoes callin …” repeated excessively would require censorship due to overuse and higher likelihood of offense.

The term “bastard” only requires censorship if it is used in a derogatory manner. Example: “You stupid ass bastard, die in a fire!” In this context, the terms “ass” and “bastard” would need to be censored.

The term “porn” requires censorship in any context where it is being used sexually. Example: “I filmed a porn video with her last night.” In this context, the term “porn” would need to be censored.
