Online Radio Station Threatens Radiocast After Recieving Business Inquiry

Radiocast recently recieved a legal threat from an online radio station after sending an email regarding a business inquiry to them.

Radiocast recently recieved a legal threat from an online radio station after receiving and email regarding a business inquiry.

The Situation

This situation first began when Radiocast reached out to the owner of the online radio station Timeless Gold via Discord to offer our high-quality online radio station hosting services to them. They then proceeded to instruct us to contact them through their company email.

About two weeks later, we found the time to reach out to them again through their company email to continue the discussion.

Contacting Timeless Gold via Email

Instead of replying to Radiocast's email professionally and attempting to validate any concerns they had about the email, they threatened to report Radiocast "to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)." They accused of us adding them to a "marketing and distribution list" without first attempting to contact us back to confirm our intent or if the email was indeed automated.

Email Sent by Timeless Gold in Response to Our Email

We promptly responded to their email, informing them that their accusation was completely false and that they had, in fact, provided authorization for us to email them.

Our Response Email

After the final email we sent, we did not receive a response. Threatening to falsely report anyone or anything to the authorities is saddening and can cause very extreme problems, including wasting the authorities' time and resources, which could be dedicated to more serious things, like providing important advice to companies and even charities.
