What bitrate should I use for internet radio?

128 kbps AAC is fine for talk and mobile listening. 192 kbps is a strong everyday music default. 256–320 kbps suits hi-fi or desktop listeners. Higher bitrate multiplies bandwidth for every concurrent listener.

How do I calculate radio stream bandwidth?

Multiply stream bitrate (kbps) by peak concurrent listeners, then divide by 1,000 for Mbps. Example: 192 kbps × 100 listeners ≈ 19.2 Mbps of aggregate stream capacity at peak.
