How Mix97FM grew from a peak of one listener to 22.

One owner, a 500+ track library and a round-the-clock schedule. Mix97FM moved from a CentovaCast-based provider to Radiocast in May 2025, then connected hosting, automation, processing and station data to its independent public website.

One operator. Full-scale ambitions.

Mix97FM is an independent station in Ottawa focused on hip-hop and R&B. The owner wanted a dependable way to keep music on air, run specialty programming, go live and share local information—without managing a large technical stack alone.

Radiocast became the operating layer for the stream, schedule and station data. The owner estimates 500–1,000 monthly listeners; that estimate has not been independently audited and varies with programming and distribution.

A connected broadcast workflow.

A station that keeps playing

AutoDJ runs Mix97FM’s configured 24/7 schedule, with weighted song rotations, scheduled specialty blocks and live takeover when needed.

A more consistent sound

A custom Stereo Tool configuration handles processing and normalization across a library of more than 500 tracks.

Local updates without a newsroom

Mix97FM uses Radiocast Reporter to gather information, write a script and synthesize automated news and Ottawa weather segments.

“24/7” describes Mix97FM’s configured continuous AutoDJ operation, not a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, network conditions and third-party services can affect service.

Mix97FM independently designed its website; Radiocast powers parts of the experience with streaming and station data.

A stronger foundation as the station grew.

The owner confirmed a previous peak of one concurrent listener and a recent 30-day peak of 22. Mix97FM also expanded its distribution through TuneIn, Radio Garden, social media and its own website during that period. Radiocast supported the infrastructure beneath this growth; this case study does not claim that hosting alone caused it.

*The 22× figure is arithmetic based on the two owner-confirmed peak counts. It is not a unique-listener measure or a performance guarantee. Estimated monthly reach of 500–1,000 is supplied by the station and has not been independently audited. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
